Kendall Fund Supports Environmental Study and Projects
(Feb. 2024) An anonymous donor has established an innovative, environmentally focused fund with the Allegany County Area Foundation.
Uniquely, the Kendall Fund may be used for either scholarships or to support local projects, depending on student needs and project availability. Eligible students will be working toward a bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to environmental science or stewardship. The award may be received more than once.
Projects that may be eligible for Kendall Fund assistance include those that support new or existing outdoor recreational sites, the planting of trees in public areas or similar efforts, water quality monitoring where it has implications for public health or recreation, or certain streambank stabilization projects.
The first awards from the Kendall Fund will support both college scholarships and local projects.
