“Road to the Future” Scholarship Fund (2013)
Members of the Highway Association desire to promote the fields of engineering and heavy equipment by awarding an annual scholarship for $1,000.00 each to two students from Allegany County schools. One scholarship is designated for heavy equipment and one scholarship for engineering. At the time when this award was created Mr. Kevin “Fred” Demick and Mr. Paul Miller spoke for the executive committee of the Association and its twenty-nine members. This new fund (2013) was a log awaited dream of the Association. Every member helped to raise the money for the scholarship. All hope that students will learn the skills needed to live and work in Allegany County.
