The Allegany County Area Foundation Supports the Wide Awake Club Library

Wide Awake Club Library Project

Fillmore, NY – May 22, 2014 – The Allegany County Area Foundation has awarded a $1,000 grant to the Wide Awake Club Library to enhance their children’s program.  Roxanne Baker, Director of the Wide Awake Club Library, said the money will be used to purchase some much needed children’s furniture.  Mrs. Baker said, “The Wide Awake Club Library’s children’s programming has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few years!  Last year we had a total of 155 children and young adults register for our Summer Reading Program and our Preschool Story Hour has continued to grow each year.  This new furniture would greatly enhance our children’s area of our library.”
The Wide Awake Club Library remains the 3rd highest circulating library in Allegany County, with a total circulation last year of almost 40,000 items.  They see an average of 63 people come through their doors each day, and they are a vital, thriving part of their community.  The library is located at 46 West Main Street in Fillmore.  For more information about the library call 585-567-8301.
