Check Presented for the MCAC/Ian Gregory Bole Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Allegany County Area Foundation was recently presented a check from the Greater Allegany County Chamber of Commerce/Manufacturing Council of Allegany County in the amount of $2,716.25. This check represents the proceeds from the 2015 MCAC Golf Outing held last August. The proceeds from this tournament benefit the MCAC/Ian Gregory Bole Memorial Scholarship Fund which is managed by the Foundation.

Ian Gregory Bole joined the Marines in 2006. He served as Sergeant in United States Marine Corps in Afghanistan and received numerous military commendations: Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Achievement Medals, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corp Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Ian died in a motorcycle accident when he was 32 years old. Before his passing he had given the Gift of Life by having designated that his organs be donated to those in need. For that he received one last medal, the New York State Gift of Life Medal of Honor.

The MCAC/Ian Gregory Bole Memorial Scholarship was created for those who have attended the Belmont Career and Tech Center and intend to study manufacturing and/or engineering at Alfred State SUNY College of Technology.
